Importance of the Story in Quran

Why the story of Pharaoh and his tragic fate at the end of his life is narrated in the Koran, one of which is so that it becomes a lesson for people who are afraid of the threat of punishment and retribution from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. The story at the same time shows that Allah never breaks promises to his servants his obedient servant and never punishes his immoral servants except with his justice.

Character of Pharaoh

Pharaoh is the ruler of Egypt who is tyrannical and arrogant, including his arrogance when he is called by the Prophet Musa Alaihissalam and Harun Alaihissalam to receive the signs of the greatness of Allah. He admitted the treatises of the two so that they wanted to deify Allah and worship Him instead of accepting the treatises from the Prophet Musa and the Prophet Aaron and refuting Allah. Pharaoh and his people’s leaders instead accused the treatises of both of them as witchcraft, in fact Pharaoh had brought magicians to challenge Moses and was fragrant with magic – Their mainstay of magic.

It is also mentioned that Pharaoh was a tyrant and arbitrary ruler so that no one dared to believe in Musa apart from the descendants of his people and even then was accompanied by fear of Pharaoh and his followers. In the Koran Allah says which means, no one believes in Moses other than the descendants of his people accompanied by fear of Pharaoh and the leaders of his people who would torture them, in fact Pharaoh was really arbitrary on earth. In fact, he really was one of those who transgressed. Pharaoh and the following him was impressed and led his people astray from the path of Allah which also caused them to perish and locked their hearts. Pharaoh never suffered from any disease to his people.

Forms of Injustice

Pharaoh divided them into small groups so that they became weak and helpless. He did not hesitate to torture anyone who opposed his orders and desires, to torture Siti Asiah who is also his own wife who believes in Allah and denies his power is wrong. One proof is that Pharaoh Kian’s cruel behavior was immeasurable when he received a prediction that a boy would be born and would be the cause of destruction. Every woman who is about to give birth is alerted by the executioners. If it turns out that the child she is giving birth to is a boy, then the executioner does not hesitate to slaughter the child in front of the mother who has just given birth to him. It turned out that the child that was worried about was none other than Musa Alaihissalam who was saved by Allah by inspiring his mother to put the baby Musa in the ark and throw him into the river Nile until finally baby Musa was found by Pharaoh’s own wife and raised him in his special palace environment thanks to God’s scenario Mother Musa back to breastfeeding. In the Qur’an Allah says, which means we inspired Musa’s mother. Breastfeed her. If you are worried for her safety, float her into the Nile in a floating casket.

Tragic Fate of Pharaoh

At the end of his life, Pharaoh also had a tragic fate. He drowned in the Red Sea while chasing Prophet Musa Alaihissalam and the Children of Israel. Before the seconds of his death, he just surrendered and acknowledged the God that the Children of Israel believed in. “I believe that there is no God who has power and has the right to be worshiped except the God whom the Children of Israel have believed in, and I am one of those Muslims who have surrendered to Him.” Because of his annoyance, the angel Jibril immediately filled the Pharaoh’s mouth with seaweed so that he failed to believe and acknowledge the divinity of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. So at a glance, the story of Pharaoh’s cruelty and the tragic fate that he and his army experienced, they were destroyed and drowned in the ocean. Then Allah wanted to save his body as a lesson for those who came after him until now Pharaoh’s body was modified and is still stored in the Cairo Museum Egypt. According to the Pharaoh experts, this is Pharaoh Amenhotep 1, who is 3500 years old.
